นาฬิกาจีนเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ผู้คนให้ความสนใจมากขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญในช่วงเวลา 5 ปีที่ผ่านมา ส่วนหนึ่งเป็นเพราะแบรนด์ใหม่ๆ ที่นำเสนอรูปลักษณ์ที่ล้ำสมัย แต่เราต้องไม่ลืมด้วยว่าประเทศจีนนั้นมีการผลิตนาฬิกามายาวนานแล้ว โดยมี Sea-Gull เป็นพี่ใหญ่ที่ก่อตั้งเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1955 และมีอายุครบรอบ 70 ปีในปีนี้ ปัจจุบัน Sea-Gull มีโรงงานและศักยภาพในการผลิตที่ล้ำหน้าเป็นอย่างมาก โดยไม่เพียงมีกลไกเพอร์เพทชวลคาเลนดาร์หรือตูร์บิยองเท่านั้น แต่ไปถึงขั้นของการผลิตตูร์บิยองแบบ 2 แกนหรือ 3 แกนแล้วด้วยซ้ำ
Sea-Gull Pilot Series Split Second Chronograph รหัส 418.13.1077 ที่คุณเห็นอยู่นี้เป็นนาฬิกาตัวเรือนไทเเทเนียมขนาด 42.5 มม. ซึ่งออกแบบตามรูปลักษณ์ของนาฬิกาโครโนกราฟสำหรับนักบินรุ่นแรกของประเทศจีนเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1963 การทำงานใช้เครื่องแบบไขลานรุ่นคาลิเบอร์ ST1961 ซึ่งมีกำลังลานสำรอง 45 ชั่วโมงและมองเห็นได้ผ่านฝาหลังใส โดยที่เครื่องโครโนกราฟกลไกคอลัมน์วีลรุ่นนี้มีปุ่มกดเพิ่มเติมเข้ามาอีกปุ่มหนึ่งที่ตำแหน่ง 10 นาฬิกาเพื่อการจับเวลาแบบสปลิทเซ็กเกินด์ที่หายากมากในวงการนาฬิกา พร้อมตอกย้ำถึงคอมพลิเคชั่นระดับสูงดังกล่าวด้วยการพิมพ์คำว่า “Rattrapante” ซึ่งเป็นชื่อของฟังก์ชั่นนี้ในภาษาฝรั่งเศสไว้บนหน้าปัดสีขาวที่เล่นระดับชั้นอย่างสวยงาม
ทั้งนี้ Sea-Gull จะจำกัดจำนวนการผลิตนาฬิการุ่นพิเศษที่สวมใส่ด้วยสายหนังจระเข้สีดำและหัวเข็มขัดไทเทเนียมรุ่นนี้ไว้ที่ 500 เรือนเท่านั้น

Chinese watches have earned increasing approval from Thai customers over the past five years, in part due to the emergence of new brands offering contemporary designs. However, it is important not to overlook the country’s long-standing watchmaking heritage with Sea-Gull as a key player. Founded in 1955, the brand celebrates their 70th anniversary this year. Today, Sea-Gull operates with advanced manufacturing capabilities that extend beyond perpetual calendars and tourbillons, having reached the level of producing double-axis and even triple-axis tourbillons.
The Sea-Gull Pilot Series Split Second Chronograph (Ref. 418.13.1077) that we have chosen to feature in this September issue draws inspiration from China’s first pilot chronograph in 1963. Its 42.5 mm titanium case houses the Calibre ST1961, which is visible through a transparent caseback and offers a power reserve of 45 hours. This hand-winding, column-wheel chronograph movement features an additional pusher at the 10 o’clock position to actuate the split-seconds mechanism for an extra timing needs in addition to that of a conventional chronograph. The “Rattrapante” lettering on the multi-layered white dial proudly denotes in French this rarefied complication within the watch industry.
This commemorative edition of watches, fitted with a black alligator leather strap and a titanium buckle, will be limited to only 500 pieces.
