Rado has long been the Master of Materials. In the modern era, as early as 1986, they have also been the pioneer introducing high-tech ceramic into the watch industry for the production of cases and bracelets. They have since earned the trust of consumers worldwide, who recognise the material for its technical superiority as well as its exceptional lightness and comfort on the wrist in all climates.
The Anatom Automatic Skeleton Ref. R10206109 is the first watch model introduced by Rado this year. The stainless steel mid-case takes on a rectangular form measuring 32.5 x 46.3 x 11.5 mm, topped with a matte plasma high-tech ceramic bezel that is highly resistant to scratches. A curved sapphire crystal completes the design, with its outer edges seamlessly integrated into the flowing lines of the case.
What distinguishes this new Anatom from previous versions is the openworked dial, which reveals the functioning and intricate components of the skeletonised Calibre R808. The effect is almost like an X-ray view, allowing the balance wheel to be seen in constant motion at 12 o’clock like a beating heart. Despite the absence of a conventional dial, legibility remains strong thanks to the gold-coloured hands that point towards the minute track and ample-sized hour markers around the perimeter. Turning the watch over, you will see an anchor-shaped rotor that winds the movement up to the impressive 80-hour power reserve.
This “living and breathing” Rado Anatom Automatic Skeleton, which speaks clearly to the wearer’s appreciation of mechanical watchmaking, is secured to the wrist with a grey strap made from flexible, scentless rubber. The material is highly resistant to tearing, UV light, acids or other solvents.
