หลังจากที่ปล่อย Excalibur Biretrograde Calendar เป็นตัวเซอร์ไพรส์ที่งาน Watches and Wonders Geneva เมื่อเดือนเมษายนแล้ว ขณะนี้ Roger Dubuis ก็เดินหน้านำเสนอความคลาสสิกอย่างเต็มตัวกับนาฬิกา Hommage La Placide ซึ่งเป็นลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่นจำนวน 28 เรือนที่ออกแบบขึ้นเพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่คุณลุงโรเชร์ ดูบุยส์ ผู้ล่วงลับ เนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบ 30 ปีนับจากที่มีการก่อตั้งแบรนด์เมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1995
Hommage La Placide ตัวเรือนพิงค์โกลด์ขนาด 38 มม. ที่สวมใส่ด้วยสายหนังสีน้ำเงินรุ่นนี้ทำงานด้วยเครื่องนาฬิการุ่นคาลิเบอร์ RD1472 ซึ่งเป็นการเอาเครื่องเบสรุ่น RD14 ดั้งเดิมในสต็อกเก่าเก็บมาประกบกับโมดูลเพอร์เพทชวลคาเลนดาร์ RD72 ที่แสดงค่าวันและวันที่ด้วยเข็มแบบไบเรโทรเกรดอย่างที่เราคุ้นคากันจากนาฬิกา Roger Dubius ช่วงแรกๆ ด้านบนบริเวณ 12 นาฬิกาเป็นวงแสดงค่าเดือนซ้อนด้วยวงแสดงค่ารอบปีอธิกสุรทิน ด้านล่างบริเวณ 6 นาฬิกาเป็นหน้าต่างมูนเฟสที่โชว์ดวงจันทร์ทองแท้อยู่เหนือจานอเวนจูรีนสีน้ำเงินที่ดูระยิบระยับด้วยดวงดาว
สีน้ำเงินของพื้นหน้าปัดสื่อถึงสีของน้ำในทะเลสาบเจนีวาซึ่งคุณลุงโรเชร์มองเห็นทุกวันระหว่างนั่งรถไฟจากเวเวย์มาเรียนวิชาช่างนาฬิกาที่เจนีวา ตัดด้วยเคาน์เตอร์ต่างๆ ที่ผลิตจากเปลือกหอยมุกซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งซิกเนเจอร์ของแบรนด์ Roger Dubuis ตั้งแต่ยุคเริ่มแรก สำหรับชื่อ La Placide นั้นเราเองก็เพิ่งรู้ว่าเป็นเหมือนชื่อเล่นของคุณลุงโรเชร์ที่ติดตัวมาตั้งแต่วัยเด็กสมัยเรียนลูกเสือจนกระทั่งเข้าสู่วัยทำงาน มีความหมายสื่อถึงความสงบนิ่งและภูมิปัญญาที่ครั้งหนึ่งคุณลุงเคยนำมาสู่วงการนาฬิกานี้

Following the surprise debut of the Excalibur Biretrograde Calendar at Watches and Wonders Geneva in April, Roger Dubuis has unveiled the next classical product with the Hommage La Placide: a limited edition of 28 pieces, created in honour of the late Mr. Roger Dubuis on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the brand that was founded in 1995.
The Hommage La Placide features a 38 mm pink gold case, paired with a blue leather strap. It is powered by the Calibre RD1472 which combines the historic RD14 base calibre from the brand’s archives with the RD72 perpetual calendar module, displaying the day and date through the distinctive bi-retrograde hands that defined Roger Dubuis’ early creations. At 12 o’clock, the dial shows the month and leap year cycle in the same subdial, while at 6 o’clock lies a moon phase aperture displaying a golden moon above an aventurine disk that shimmers with a constellation of stars.
The deep blue dial evokes the colour of Lake Geneva, which Mr. Dubuis saw daily on his train rides from Vevey to Geneva during his watchmaking studies. The various counters are made of mother-of-pearl, a design element that has been one of the maison’ signatures since their early years. The name La Placide itself, as we have discovered, was the childhood nickname of Mr. Dubuis. It originated from his time in the scouts and later accompanied him into his professional life, reflecting the serenity and wisdom that he once brought to the watchmaking world.
In celebration of this special anniversary, all owners of a Hommage timepiece are invited to visit any official Roger Dubuis boutique worldwide to receive a new Hommage strap free of charge while supplies last. There is no fixed deadline for the programme. However, as Thailand does not have an official boutique of this kind, interested collectors may contact the Roger Dubuis boutique at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, which is the closest to us.
