Rado มีคอลเลคชั่นนาฬิกาสไตล์สปอร์ตที่มาพร้อมกับเรื่องราวปูมหลังอันน่าสนใจ นั่นก็คือคอลเลคชั่น Captain Cook ซึ่งตั้งตามชื่อของกัปตันเจมส์ คุก นักเดินเรือชาวอังกฤษที่ออกสำรวจโลกในยุคศตวรรษที่ 18 โดย Rado ใช้ชื่อนี้เป็นครั้งแรกเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1962 ขณะที่ริเริ่มผลิตนาฬิกาดำน้ำเพื่อตอบโจทย์ความต้องการของตลาดในสมัยนั้น ก่อนที่จะนำชื่อและดีไซน์ของ Captain Cook นี้กลับมานำเสนอใหม่ในรูปแบบร่วมสมัยในปี ค.ศ. 2017

Rado has a sports watch collection with a fascinating backstory: the Captain Cook, named after the 18th century British explorer who sailed the world. Rado first used this name in 1962 when they began producing dive watches to meet the market demand of that era, before reintroducing the Captain Cook name and design in the contemporary form in 2017.
Since then, Rado has steadily expanded the Captain Cook collection, starting with stainless steel models and later adding high-tech ceramic versions in 2021. This latter material is five times harder than stainless steel, with a Vickers hardness rating of 1,250, making it highly resistant to scratches from everyday wear. It is also 25% lighter than stainless steel so it does not feel heavy on the wrist. Additionally, its hypoallergenic properties make it ideal for those with metal allergies.
Rado has also enhanced the collection with a chronograph function, leading to the launch of the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Chronograph in two new styles this year. Firstly, there is a black high-tech ceramic version with a black dial; rose gold-coloured PVD-coated stainless steel bezel, crown, and pushers; along with a black high-tech ceramic bezel insert (R32190153). Secondly, we are impressed also by the plasma high-tech ceramic version in a grey tone with a green dial; stainless steel bezel, crown, and pushers; and, a green high-tech ceramic bezel insert (R32189313).
The model is water-resistant to 300 metres and can measure elapsed times up to 12 hours, with a 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock. It is equipped with the self-winding Caliber R801 with a 59-hour power reserve.
