อีกครั้งกับลวดลายหน้าจอทดสอบโทรทัศน์ในนาฬิกา Mido Multifort TV Big Date

โดยพื้นฐานแล้ว Multifort TV Big Date เป็นนาฬิกาที่คุ้มค่าคุ้มราคามากๆ ด้วยฟังก์ชั่นบิ๊กเดทตัวเลขวันที่คู่อย่างที่มีให้พบเห็นได้น้อยในระดับราคานี้ในตัวเรือนแบบเม็ดมะยมขันเกลียวที่กันน้ำได้ถึงระดับความลึก 100 เมตร สำหรับใครที่ชอบทักว่าหน้าตาเขาไปเหมือนกับรุ่นดังจากแบรนด์ใดก็อยากให้เปิดใจมองภาพเก่าด้วยว่า Mido มีนาฬิการูปทรงนี้มาตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 1973 เท่านั้น แต่ผลิตจนถึงราวปี ค.ศ. 1980 ก็เลิกไป ไม่ได้ทำต่อ และขาดช่วงจนกระทั่งนำกลับมาใหม่อย่างจริงจังในชื่อ Multifort TV นี้ในปี ค.ศ. 2023
และเมื่อปีที่แล้วนี้ Mido ก็ยังตอกย้ำดีเอ็นเอที่ผูกโยงอยู่กับรูปทรงของโทรทัศน์ในสมัยก่อนด้วยนาฬิกา Multifort TV Big Date S01E01 หรือ Season 01 Episode 01 ที่ทำหน้าปัดเป็นลวดลายเหมือนหน้าจอทดสอบการเผยแพร่ภาพโทรทัศน์เสียเลย และ Multifort TV Big Date S01E02 ใหม่ในปีนี้ก็ยังคงใช้ธีมหน้าปัดสไตล์เดิมแต่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงรายละเอียดบนพื้นผิว โดยในครั้งนี้แถบสีต่างๆ นั้นมีลักษณะเป็นแท่งนูนขึ้นมาจากพื้นหน้าปัดด้วย และพื้นสีเทาที่เป็นฉากหลังนั้นก็มีลายจุดพิกเซลนอยซ์เหมือนเวลาที่โทรทัศน์สมัยก่อนมีคลื่นแทรกและภาพไม่ชัด
เครื่องนาฬิกาเป็นรุ่นคาลิเบอร์ 80 ที่ใช้บาลานซ์สปริงแบบนิวาครอนซึ่งสามารถทนทานต่ออิทธิพลของสนามแม่เหล็กได้ดีเป็นพิเศษ มีกำลังลานสำรอง 80 ชั่วโมงตามชื่อรุ่น และมองเห็นได้ผ่านฝาหลังแซฟไฟร์คริสตอลของตัวเรือนสเตนเลสสตีลขนาด 40 x 39.2 มม. ขัดซาตินสลับขัดเงาและมีการเคลือบพีวีดีสีเทาเพื่อความคมเข้มเป็นพิเศษ ตัวนาฬิกาบรรจุในกล่องพิเศษที่มาพร้อมกับสายยางสีฟ้าสดและสายยางสีเหลืองสดที่เจ้าของนาฬิกาสามารถสับเปลี่ยนกับสายแบบเบรซเลทที่ติดตัวเรือนมาได้อย่างง่ายดายด้วยตนเอง
สำหรับ S01E02 รุ่นนี้ทาง Mido เรียกว่าเป็นสเปเชียลเอดิชั่น ไม่ใช่ลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่น และไม่มีการประกาศข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับจำนวนหรือระยะเวลาในการผลิตแต่อย่างใด แต่ก็พอจะอนุมานได้ว่าจะทำแค่ไม่กี่เดือนแล้วก็เลิกทำ จากนั้นก็ทิ้งช่วงไปอีกอย่างน้อย 1 ปีแล้วค่อยออก S01E03 ต่อไป

At its core, the Multifort TV Big Date is an exceptionally well-priced watch, offering remarkable value for money. It features a big date function with twin numerical discs, a complication rarely seen at this price level, housed within a screw-down crown case that is water resistant to 100 metres. For those who might point out its resemblance to a certain model from a certain other brand, it is worth recalling that Mido has been producing watches in this television-shaped form since 1973. Production ceased around 1980, and the design remained dormant until it was revived in earnest in 2023 under the name Multifort TV.
Last year, Mido reaffirmed this television-inspired design heritage with the Multifort TV Big Date S01E01, standing for “Season 01, Episode 01”. Its dial playfully echoed the television broadcast screens of the yesteryears. The new Multifort TV Big Date S01E02 continues with the same dial concept, though with refined surface details. In this iteration, the coloured bars rise in relief from the dial’s surface, while the grey background features a pixelated noise texture reminiscent of the static interference seen on analogue televisions.
The watch is powered by the Calibre 80 movement, equipped with a Nivachron balance spring that provides outstanding resistance to magnetic fields. As its name suggests, the calibre offers a power reserve of 80 hours, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. The stainless-steel case measures 40 by 39.2 mm, alternating between satin-brushed and polished finishes, and enhanced with a grey PVD coating for an edgier, more modern aesthetic. Each watch is delivered in a special presentation box with bright blue and yellow rubber straps, both of which can easily be interchanged with the fitted steel bracelet using the quick-release mechanism.
Mido refers to the S01E02 as a special edition rather than a limited edition, with no official information regarding production numbers or duration. Nonetheless, it can be inferred that production will last only a few months before being discontinued, likely followed by at least a year’s pause before the eventual release of the next “episode”, namely the S01E03.
