Formerly known as Locanda Pagano, Hotel La Palma first opened its doors in 1822 under the ownership of Giuseppe Pagano, making it the oldest hotel on the island of Capri. It now operates under the high-end Oetker Collection and has done so since 2023.
This past April, Hotel La Palma welcomed guests once again after an extensive renovation led by internationally renowned designer Francis Sultana. His work on the property beautifully captures the understated luxury and natural elegance of the island, while also infusing the hotel with refined Italian artistry and a nostalgic nod to Capri’s glamorous jet-set era of the 1950s.
Located just a short stroll from the Piazzetta, the beating heart of Capri, Hotel La Palma offers a total of 50 rooms, including 18 suites. Room sizes range from the 28-square-metre Deluxe Rooms to the 88-square-metre La Palma Suite, which can be expanded through adjoining rooms to create a total space of up to 227 square metres: an ideal configuration for groups or large families. The hotel also features a full array of amenities, including a luxurious spa designed to enhance your stay with restorative relaxation.
Guests of the hotel can also access the La Palma Beach Club, located separately on the beach at Marina Piccola, where the sea is just steps away. Those preferring to stay closer to home can lounge by the hotel’s pool with a drink or a light snack from the Aqua Bar. Dining options are plentiful and overseen by acclaimed Italian chef Gennaro Esposito. These include Gennaro’s, a classic Italian restaurant, as well as the Bianca Rooftop Carne & Crudo, an Italian-style steakhouse offering refined dinners against a scenic backdrop of the village of Capri and the surrounding sea.
Capri is most commonly reached by hydrofoil, with journeys taking approximately 30 minutes from Sorrento, 50 minutes from either Positano or Amalfi, and also 50 minutes from Naples. The nearest airport is located in Naples.
