IWC เดินหน้าสู่สถานีอวกาศกับบริษัทสัญชาติอเมริกัน Vast
IWC ประกาศเป็นผู้จับเวลาอย่างเป็นทางการของ Vast บริษัทสัญชาติอเมริกันที่มีเป้าหมายในการสร้างสถานีอวกาศเชิงพาณิชย์แห่งแรกของโลก (หรือจริงๆ ต้องเรียกว่าของมนุษยชาติ เพราะว่าสถานีนี้อยู่นอกโลก) สถานีดังกล่าวนั้นจะมีชื่อเรียกว่า Haven-1 และจะใช้เพื่อทำการทดลองทางวิทยาศาสตร์ต่างๆ ที่จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อผู้คนบนโลก และเพื่อสนับสนุนการสำรวจอวกาศในระยะยาวต่อไป
IWC เองนั้นมีประวัติศาสตร์ในการผลิตนาฬิกานักบินมายาวนาน และเคยมีส่วนร่วมในการสำรวจอวกาศในเชิงพาณิชย์มาแล้ว อาทิ ภารกิจ Inspiration4 และ Polaris Dawn ในการนี้ Vast จะมีการทดสอบนาฬิกาต้นแบบของ IWC ในสภาวะต่างๆ เหมือนกับที่ทำกับอุปกรณ์ของ Vast เองที่จะใช้บนสถานี Haven-1 และสถานีทดสอบ Haven Demo ที่ Vast จะปล่อยออกไปโคจรรอบโลกในอนาคตอันใกล้นี้ด้วย
IWC has announced their appointment as the official timing partner of Vast, an American company with the ambition to create the world’s first commercial space station or, more accurately, the first for humanity, as the station will be located beyond earth. The station will be named Haven-1 and is intended to host a wide range of scientific experiments designed to benefit life on earth, while also supporting long-term space exploration.
IWC has a long-standing history in the production of pilot’s watches and has previously been involved in commercial space exploration, notably through the Inspiration4 and Polaris Dawn missions. As part of this partnership, Vast will test IWC prototype watches under a variety of conditions, alongside Vast’s own equipment that will be used aboard Haven-1, as well as the Haven Demo test station that Vast plans to launch into orbit in the near future.
