Rolex เป็นแบรนด์นาฬิกาสวิสที่ขึ้นชื่อเรื่องความเป็นเลิศในการประดิษฐ์นาฬิกาและคิดค้นนวัตกรรมใหม่ๆ เพื่อยกระดับคุณภาพของผลิตภัณฑ์ ทั้งยังดำเนินธุรกิจด้วยวิสัยทัศน์และปรัชญาที่ส่งเสริมความยั่งยืนของสังคมโลกผ่านทางโครงการต่างๆ ที่ดำเนินต่อเนื่องอย่างจริงจัง และบุคคลที่ Rolex เลือกมาเป็นตัวแทนในการนำเสนอนาฬิกาของตนนั้นก็ไม่ได้เรียกว่า “แบรนด์แอมบาสเดอร์” หากแต่มีชื่อตำแหน่งอย่างเป็นทางการว่า “เทสติโมนี” เพื่อเป็นการให้เกียรติแก่ความสำเร็จในแต่ละสาขาอาชีพ ความคิดสร้างสรรค์หรือกิจกรรมเพื่อสังคมที่เขาเหล่านั้นได้ทุ่มเทแรงกายและใจให้มาโดยตลอด
เพื่อเป็นการบอกเล่าถึงเรื่องราวของเขาเหล่านี้และจุดประกายขับเคลื่อนคนรุ่นใหม่ Rolex จึงได้จัดทำสารคดีชุด Reach for the Crown ขึ้นมาเผยแพร่ทาง YouTube ของตน เพื่อนำเสนอถึงความทุ่มเทในการฝึกฝนหรือความกล้าหาญที่จะฟันฝ่าความท้าทายในทุกสภาวะ ก่อนที่เขาจะก้าวขึ้นคว้า “มงกุฎ” อันเป็นเครื่องหมายแห่งจุดสูงสุดของความสำเร็จ
บทความนี้จะนำเสนอเทสติโมนี 6 ท่านแรกในสารคดีชุดนี้ของ Rolex ได้แก่ โคโค่ กอฟฟ์ นักเทนนิสสาวชาวอเมริกันวัย 21 ปี เธอเริ่มจับแร็คเก็ตเทนนิสตั้งแต่อายุเพียง 6 ปี และชนะการแข่งขันเทนนิสรายการเล็กรายการหนึ่งเมื่อครั้งเธออายุเพียง 10 ปีจนเป็นแรงผลักดันสู่การเป็นนักเทนนิสอาชีพมาจนถึงทุกวันนี้ เธอผู้นี้เคยเอาชนะไอดอลของเธอเองอย่าง วีนัส วิลเลียมส์ ในรอบแรกของวิมเบิลดันเมื่อปี 2019 ด้วยอายุเพียง 15 ปีในขณะนั้น และแม้จะมีพักหนึ่งที่เธอฟอร์มไม่ดี พ่ายแพ้หลายครั้งจนเกิดความกดดัน แต่เธอก็ยังสามารถกลับมาผงาดในบนคอร์ทและก้าวสู่ความสำเร็จด้วยการครองตำแหน่งนักเทนนิสหญิงเดี่ยวมือวางอันดับสองของโลกในปี 2024
ฮาน่า มิลส์ ชาวอังกฤษวัย 37 ปีเป็นนักกีฬาเรือใบหญิงที่ประสบความสำเร็จสูงสุดคนหนึ่งในประวัติศาสตร์ เธออุทิศและทุ่มเทให้กับกีฬาที่ต้องอาศัยทั้งความแม่นยำ ทักษะและสมรรถนะเพื่อให้ได้มาซึ่งชัยชนะของทีมชนิดนี้ จนได้รับการยอมรับในเรื่องความเป็นผู้นำและการให้คำแนะนำกับผู้อื่นที่จะเข้าสู่วงการ ปัจจุบันฮาน่าดำรงตำแหน่งนักวางแผนกลยุทธ์ให้กับทีม Emirates Great Britain SailGP เธอไม่เพียงเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้กับนักกีฬาเรือใบรุ่นใหม่ แต่ยังเป็นแบบอย่างในการก้าวข้ามอุปสรรคทางเพศในการแข่งขันที่ดุเดือดนี้ด้วย ในการนี้ฮาน่ายังได้ร่วมกับ เซอร์ เบน เอนสลี ก่อตั้งโครงการ Athena Pathway เมื่อปี 2022 โดยมุ่งหวังที่จะเร่งพัฒนาการนักเรือใบหญิงและเยาวชน และนำทีมเข้าแข่งขันในรายการ Women’s America’s Cup ครั้งแรกในปี 2024

เทสติโมนีของ Rolex ไม่ได้มีเพียงนักกีฬาเท่านั้น อย่างในจำนวน 6 คนแรกในซีรีส์ Reach for the Crown นั้นก็มีอยู่ 2 คนที่เป็นบุคคลผู้ประสบความสำเร็จจากสายอาชีพอื่น ได้แก่ หยูจา หวัง นักเปียโนที่มีชื่อเสียงระดับโลกซึ่งได้รับการยกย่องในด้านเทคนิคและการแสดงบนเวทีที่เข้าถึงอารมณ์ของผู้ชม หยูจาเริ่มเล่นเปียโนตั้งแต่อายุเพียง 6 ปี เธอชนะการแข่งขันคอนแชร์โต Aspen Music Festival ในวัย 15 ปี และเริ่มเป็นนักดนตรีมืออาชีพในขณะที่ยังเป็นนักเรียนที่ Curtis Institute of Music ในปี 2007 ขณะที่อายุได้ 20 ปี ด้วยการร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของวง Boston Symphony Orchestra จนทำให้เธอเป็นที่รู้จักและจดจำในวงกว้าง ก่อนที่เธอจะได้รับรางวัลแกรมมี่ในปี 2024 เป็นการการันตีถึงความสามารถอันน่าทึ่งของเธอ

Apart from its excellence in watchmaking and commitment to constant innovation, Rolex is known for its long-term philosophy that is rooted in sustainability. The Swiss brand supports global communities through meaningful and ongoing initiatives. Moreover, the faces selected to represent their ideals are not referred to as “brand ambassadors” but rather as “testimonees”: a title that honours their achievements, creativity, and long-term contributions to the society.
To share the stories of these individuals and inspire the next generation, Rolex has launched a documentary series titled “Reach for the Crown”, available on its YouTube channel. The series highlights the dedication, perseverance, and courage required to overcome challenges on the path to achieving greatness – the crown – symbolising the pinnacle of success.
This article features the first six testimonees profiled in the series. Coco Gauff, the 21-year-old American tennis player, picked up her first tennis racket at the age of six and won her first junior tournament by the time she was ten. At just 15, she defeated her idol Venus Williams in the first round at Wimbledon in 2019. Despite a period of setbacks and pressure, Gauff made a remarkable comeback, eventually rising to become the world’s number two in women’s singles in 2024. Her journey is a powerful testament to perseverance and passion.
As one of the most decorated female sailors in history, Hannah Mills has won numerous victories in this sport where precision, skill and physical endurance are paramount. She is well known for her leadership and mentorship in sailing. Currently, she maintains the position of the strategist for the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team. The 37-year-old British sailor is not only an inspiration for young athletes, but also a role model for women to overcome the gender barrier in this demanding sport. To this end, in 2022, she co-founded Athena Pathway with Sir Ben Ainslie to fast-track the development of female and youth sailors. The programme successfully entered a team into Women’s America’s Cup for the first time in 2024.
Scottie Scheffler is a professional American golfer whose rise through the ranks of the PGA Tour has been marked by consistency and focus. His lifelong dream and tireless dedication saw him reach the world number one ranking in 2022. With wins including two Masters Tournaments in 2022 and 2024, as well as the PGA Championship this year, Scheffler has distinguished himself with his precision, composure, and fluid style, setting a new benchmark for modern golf.
Among the most legendary names in golf is Tiger Woods, widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He shattered numerous records and held the world number one ranking for the longest continuous period in history. Despite facing multiple injuries, Woods made a triumphant return with his unforgettable Masters victory in 2019. His resilience and influence continue to inspire new generations of athletes.
Rolex testimonees are not limited to athletes. Two of the first six in this “Reach for the Crown” series come from very different disciplines. Yuja Wang, a world-renowned pianist, is celebrated for her technical brilliance and emotionally resonant performances. She began studying piano at the young age of six and won the Aspen Music Festival’s concerto competition at 15. In 2007, at the age of 20, while still a student at the Curtis Institute of Music, she launched her professional career by joining the Boston Symphony Orchestra – a move that gained her international recognition. Later on, Wang’s win of the Grammy Award in 2024 cemented her reputation as one of the most extraordinary musical talents of her generation.
Lastly, Cristina Mittermeier, a marine biologist-turned-photographer from Mexico, is a pioneer in conservation photography. She is the founder of the International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP) and co-founder of SeaLegacy. Travelling the globe to document the beauty and fragility of marine life, her powerful imagery serves as a catalyst for change. Mittermeier has played a key role in critical conservation efforts, including the protection of the Antarctic Ocean and the expansion of marine protected areas around the Galapagos Islands.
