The Cartier Prize for Watchmaking Talents of Tomorrow is a prestigious award established in 1995 by the Cartier Watchmaking Institute to support the next generation of watchmakers and help preserve the art of horology. In the recently concluded 27th edition for 2024, participants were tasked with reinterpreting the mechanism of Cartier’s signature table clocks under the “Magic of the Senses” theme. The winners included Marta Maziers, who took first place in the Apprentice category with La Reine du Temps (the opening photo above), and, Hugo Mandrillon, who won first place in the Technician category with Oeil du Temps.
