วันที่ 13 มกราคม พ.ศ 2569 สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา เสด็จพระราชดำเนินไปทรงศึกษาค้นคว้าข้อมูลฉลองพระองค์ของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ซึ่งออกแบบและตัดเย็บโดยห้องเสื้อ Balmain ที่หอจดหมายเหตุของห้องเสื้อ Balmain ณ สำนักงานใหญ่ของ Balmain กรุงปารีส สาธารณรัฐฝรั่งเศส ซึ่งเป็นฐานข้อมูลทางประวัติศาสตร์ที่จัดเก็บไว้เกือบ 70 ปี เพื่อประกอบการจัดทำนิทรรศการ La Mode en Majesté, Haute Couture et Tradition à La Cour de Thaïlande
ห้องเสื้อ Balmain ก่อตั้งโดยนายปิแอร์ บัลแมง นักออกแบบชาวฝรั่งเศสผู้ดูแลการตัดเย็บฉลองพระองค์แบบสากลของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ที่ทรงในการโดยเสด็จพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตรไปทรงเยือนสหรัฐอเมริกา และประเทศต่างๆ ในทวีปยุโรปอย่างเป็นทางการเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2503
นายบัลแมงยังเป็นผู้ดูแลการตัดเย็บฉลองพระองค์ทั้งแบบสากลและแบบไทยของสมเด็จพระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวงในโอกาสต่างๆ สืบต่อมา โดยภายหลังนายบัลแมงถึงแก่กรรมเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2525 สมเด็จพระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวงทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้ห้องเสื้อ Balmain ซึ่งมีนายอีริค มอร์เทนเซน เป็นหัวหน้านักออกแบบรับผิดชอบดูแลงานตัดเย็บฉลองพระองค์ต่อไป นับเป็นการสืบทอดงานออกแบบตัดเย็บฉลองพระองค์ที่ยาวนานมากว่า 2 ทศวรรษ
สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าสิริวัณณวรี นารีรัตนราชกัญญา ทรงน้อมรำลึกถึงพระมหากรุณาธิคุณของสมเด็จพระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง พระผู้ทรงเป็นแรงบันดาลใจในการทรงศึกษาศิลปะและการออกแบบแฟชั่น ทรงตั้งพระทัยมั่นในการสืบสาน รักษา ต่อยอดพระราชกรณียกิจของสมเด็จพระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวงในการส่งเสริมงานออกแบบแฟชั่นไทยและการส่งเสริมผ้าไทยให้มีคุณค่าอย่างยั่งยืน
ทั้งนี้ นิทรรศการ La Mode en Majesté, Haute Couture et Tradition à La Cour de Thaïlande มีกำหนดจัดขึ้นที่พิพิธภัณฑ์ศิลปะตกแต่งหรือ Musée des Arts Décoratifs กรุงปารีส สาธารณรัฐฝรั่งเศส ระหว่างเดือนพฤษภาคม-พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2569 เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองวาระครบรอบ 170 ปี แห่งการสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตอย่างเป็นทางการระหว่างไทยกับฝรั่งเศส
The research at the House of Balmain was led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya.

On 13 January 2026, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya has made a visit to the Balmain headquarters in Paris, France, in order to conduct research on the royal garments of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, which were designed and tailored by the House of Balmain. The research took place at the brand’s archives which constitute a historical repository spanning nearly 70 years. The resulting information will be used in the development of an upcoming exhibition titled “La Mode en Majesté, Haute Couture et Tradition à La Cour de Thaïlande”.
The House of Balmain was founded by Pierre Balmain, the French designer responsible for the creation of the international wardrobe of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, worn during the official visits undertaken together with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great to the United States of America and various European countries in 1960.
Monsieur Balmain continued to oversee the creation of both Western and Thai royal attire for Her Majesty on numerous occasions thereafter. Following his passing in 1982, Her Majesty graciously appointed the House of Balmain, under the creative direction of Erik Mortensen, to continue this responsibility. This marked the continuation of a royal design and tailoring collaboration that extended for longer than two decades.
Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya respectfully reflects upon the immeasurable grace of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, who has long been a source of inspiration for Her Royal Highness in the study of art and fashion design. Her Royal Highness is firmly committed to preserving, safeguarding and building upon Her Majesty’s royal initiatives in promoting Thai fashion design and in elevating Thai textiles in a sustainable and enduring manner.
The exhibition La Mode en Majesté, Haute Couture et Tradition à La Cour de Thaïlande is scheduled to be held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France, from May to November 2026, in celebration of the 170th anniversary of the establishment of official diplomatic relations between Thailand and France.
