IWC ปรับโฉมคอลเลคชั่น Ingenieur ครั้งใหญ่เมื่อปี ค.ศ. 2023 โดยยึดดีไซน์ตัวเรือนและสายสไตล์อินทีเกรทของ Ingenieur SL โดยเจราลด์ เจนต้าจากปี ค.ศ. 1976 เป็นหลัก จุดสังเกตที่ง่ายที่สุดคือหน้าปัดซึ่งมีลวดลายกริดที่ดูคล้ายกับตารางหมากรุกไม่เหมือนใคร

แต่นาฬิกาใหม่รุ่นที่เรารู้สึกว่าคนยังพูดถึงไม่มากพอก็คือ Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 หรือ Ref. IW344903 ตัวเรือนสเตนเลสสตีลของนาฬิการุ่นนี้มีขนาดกำลังดี เส้นผ่าศูนย์กลางอยู่ที่ 41.6 มม. และความหนาอยู่ที่ 13.4 มม.

IWC gave their Ingenieur collection a major overhaul in 2023, drawing heavily on the integrated case and bracelet design of the Ingenieur SL by Gérald Genta from 1976. The most recognisable feature is the dial, with its unique grid pattern that resembles a chequered board.
The current Ingenieur collection began with the Ingenieur Automatic 40: a three-hand watch in a 40 mm case. This year, IWC expanded the line with several new models, such as the Ingenieur Automatic 42 with a black ceramic case and bracelet, and the Ingenieur Automatic 35 in stainless steel or gold. All of these have attracted wide attention from the media and watch enthusiasts alike.
One new model that, in our view, remains underrated is the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 (Ref. IW344903). This watch features a suitably sized stainless steel case measuring 41.6 mm in diameter and 13.4 mm in thickness.
The highlight of this top-of-the-line Ingenieur is its perpetual calendar complication, which reliably displays the correct date regardless of the number of days in a given month or whether the year is a leap year. The functions are clearly presented: a day subdial at 9 o’clock, a date subdial at 3 o’clock, and a month subdial with moon phase display at 6 o’clock – all set against a blue dial that is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides.
The Calibre 82600 used in this watch is similar to the self-winding movements found in the Portofino Perpetual Calendar and the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 42. It features the Pellaton winding system and a 60-hour power reserve.
All in all, this Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 integrated bracelet watch that can be easily worn on a daily basis, with a coveted complication to boot. It is also water-resistant to 100 metres, thanks to the screw-down crown and sapphire crystal case back.
