รวมเรือนเวลาที่สร้างความประทับใจเป็นการส่วนตัวจากงาน Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025

Watches and Wonders Geneva เป็นงานแสดงนาฬิกาที่มีความสำคัญที่สุดของวงการในแต่ละปี โดยปกติแล้วจะจัดเป็นเวลา 7 วันในช่วงเดือนเมษายน โดย 4 วันแรกเปิดให้สื่อ ตัวแทนจำหน่ายนาฬิกาและแขกรับเชิญเข้าชม แล้วใน 3 วันหลังจึงเปิดให้บุคคลทั่วไปที่สนใจซื้อตั๋วเข้าชมได้บ้าง Watches and Wonders มีการเติบโตแบบก้าวกระโดดในปี ค.ศ. 2022 เมื่อแบรนด์น้อยใหญ่จำนวนมากที่เคยจัดแสดงในงาน Baselworld ตัดสินใจมาเข้าร่วมอย่างเป็นทางการเมื่องานนั้นจำต้องปิดฉากลงในช่วงปีที่เกิดโควิด
ในปีนี้ Watches and Wonders Geneva ก็ยังคงขยายขนาดอย่างต่อเนื่องโดยมีแบรนด์ร่วมจัดแสดงรวม 60 แบรนด์ (เพิ่มขึ้น 11%) ผู้เข้าชมงานรวม 55,000 คน (เพิ่มขึ้น 12%) ในจำนวนนี้มีนักข่าวอย่างเราราว 1,600 คน (เพิ่มขึ้น 7%) และมีบุคคลทั่วไปซื้อตั๋วเข้าชม 23,000 คน (เพิ่มขึ้นมากถึง 21%) ส่วนจำนวนรุ่นของนาฬิกาที่นำเสนอในงานนั้นไม่มีการทำสถิติไว้แต่อย่างใด
หลังจากใช้เวลาพบปะกับแบรนด์ต่างๆ และดูนาฬิกาอยู่ในงาน 5 วันครึ่ง จากทั้งหมด 7 วัน เราก็พอจะเลือกนาฬิกามารับตำแหน่งต่างๆ ได้ดังนี้ครับ …
นาฬิกาที่คนให้ความสนใจมากที่สุด (Most Popular)
เมื่อมี Sea-Dweller และ Sky-Dweller แล้วก็ถึงคราวที่ Rolex จะต้องมี Land-Dweller เพื่อความครบครันทั้งใต้น้ำ เหนือท้องฟ้าและบนผืนแผ่นดิน นาฬิกาที่มีชื่อเต็มว่า Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller นี้ออกแบบมาเพื่อชีวิตคนเมืองโดยเฉพาะ ดังจะเห็นได้จากภาพโปรโมทต่างๆ ที่มีรูปทรงของอาคารสูงแบบเบลอๆ อยู่ในฉากหลัง
ต้นแบบของดีไซน์คือนาฬิกาสไตล์อินทีเกรทเบรซเลทของ Rolex เองจากปี 1975 หน้าปัดมีลวดลายฮันนีโคมบ์เหมือนที่ปรากฏตามกำแพงและลายพิมพ์ต่างๆ ของ Rolex ล้อมรอบด้านนอกด้วยขอบตัวเรือนแบบหยักซึ่งก็เป็นอีกหนึ่งซิกเนเจอร์ของแบรนด์ และสวมใส่ด้วยสายแบบใหม่ที่ Rolex เรียกว่าสายแฟลทจูบิลีซึ่งเชื่อมต่อกับตัวเรือนแบบไร้รอยต่อ แถมยังมีการขัดลบเหลี่ยมบริเวณขอบด้านนอกของข้อสายจนเกิดเป็นเงาวิบวับดูสวยงามเวลาขยับข้อมือ ในภาพนี้เป็นรุ่นขนาด 40 มม. แต่ว่า Land-Dweller ยังมีขนาด 36 มม. ให้คุณเลือกซื้ออีกด้วย
ปกติไม่ว่า Rolex จะทำอะไรหรือขยับตัวไปทางใดคนก็จะให้ความสนใจและจับตามองอยู่แล้ว ยิ่งเมื่อถึงขั้นเปิดคอลเลคชั่นใหม่เช่นนี้ก็ยิ่งมีแต่คนให้ความสนใจ อย่างในวันที่งานเปิดให้บุคคลทั่วไปเข้าชมอย่างเป็นทางการแล้วก็มีคนต่อคิวเข้าชม Rolex ยาวแบบแถวซ้อน 3-4 ชั้น แถมปลายแถวยังเลยอ้อมไปถึงด้านหลังของบูธอีก เราจึงขอยกตำแหน่ง Most Popular ของงาน Watches and Wonders Geneva ปีนี้ให้กับ Land-Dweller ไปได้เลย
นาฬิกาที่แอบซ่อนราคาและความซับซ้อนที่สุด (Most Discrete)
ช่วง 3-4 ปีที่ผ่านมานี้ Parmigiani Fleurier ชูจุดขายเรื่องการเป็นนาฬิกาที่มีความประณีตและมีชั้นเชิงในแบบเก็บอาการสำรวม ไม่ให้ใครรู้ราคาค่าตัวที่แท้จริง จะมีก็เพียงคนเล่นนาฬิกาด้วยกันเท่านั้นที่มองแล้วรู้ได้เองว่านี่คือผลงานระดับไฮเอ็นด์
และภายในงาน Watches and Wonders Geneva ปีนี้เราก็ได้เห็นการขยายคอลเลคชั่น Toric ด้วยรุ่น Toric Quantieme Perpetuel ซึ่งเป็นนาฬิกาฟังก์ชั่นเพอร์เพทชวลคาเลนดาร์ที่เรียบเกลี้ยงมากๆ แตกต่างจากเพอร์เพทชวลคาเลนดาร์ส่วนมากที่มักจะมีหน้าปัดเล็ก 3-4 วงบนหน้าปัด โดยบนหน้าปัดลายเกรนแบบขัดด้วยมือของ Toric รุ่นนี้จะมีเพียงแค่โลโก้ PF ที่ตำแหน่ง 12 นาฬิกา วงวันที่กับวันในสัปดาห์ที่ตำแหน่ง 8 นาฬิกา และวงเดือนกับปีอธิกสุรทินที่ตำแหน่ง 4 นาฬิกา ตัวเรือนขนาด 40.6 มม. มีให้เลือก 2 วัสดุด้วยกัน ได้แก่ แพลทตินัมซึ่งจะมาคู่กับหน้าปัดสีฟ้ามอร์นิ่งบลู และโรสโกลด์ซึ่งจะมาคู่กับหน้าปัดสีทองโกลเด้นอาว และยิ่งเมื่อเครื่องไขลานรุ่นคาลิเบอร์ PF733 ที่ใช้นั้นผลิตจากโรสโกลด์แล้วเราจะไม่ยกตำแหน่ง Most Discrete ในงานนี้ให้กับ Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Quantieme Perpetuel ได้อย่างไร จริงไหมครับ
นาฬิกาที่ใส่ได้ในโอกาสหลากหลายที่สุด (Most Versatile)
Patek Philippe Calatrava 8 Days Ref. 5328G-001 คือนาฬิกาตัวเรือนไวท์โกลด์ขนาด 41 มม. ที่เหมาะสำหรับการสวมใส่ในชีวิตประจำวัน ฟังก์ชั่นที่เป็นจุดขายของ Ref. 5328 รุ่นนี้คือการแสดงค่าวันที่ด้วยเข็มที่ตำแหน่ง 6 นาฬิกา และการแสดงค่าวันด้วยหน้าต่างในตำแหน่งเดียวกันอย่างที่เราไม่เคยเห็นมาก่อนจาก Patek Philippe ส่วนทางด้านบนนั้นมีเข็มบอกกำลังลานสำรองที่ตำแหน่ง 12 นาฬิกา ทำให้หน้าปัดของนาฬิการุ่นนี้ถูกใจคนที่ชอบความสมมาตรอย่างแน่นอน
สาเหตุที่เรามองว่า Calatrava 8 Days รุ่นนี้มีความอเนกประสงค์สูงเป็นพิเศษก็เพราะว่าดีไซน์โดยรวมนั้นไม่ได้ไปในทางเดรสหรือสปอร์ตทางใดทางหนึ่งแบบเต็มตัว หากพิจารณาจากลวดลายฮ็อบเนลบนแถบด้านข้างตัวเรือนและหน้าปัดลายเกรนสีน้ำเงินประดับหลักชั่วโมงแบบตัวเลขที่ผลิตจากไวท์โกลด์ก็จะสัมผัสได้ถึงความมีชั้นเชิง หากใส่กับสายหนังลูกวัวที่ด้านบนเป็นผ้าสีน้ำเงินอย่างในคลิปนี้ก็จะดูลำลอง หรือหากใส่กับสายหนังลูกวัวสีโทปก็จะดูเป็นทางการกว่าเล็กน้อย เรียกว่าใส่ทำงานได้ทั้ง 2 สาย แต่ก็ยังไม่ถึงกับเรียกว่าเป็นนาฬิกาสไตล์เดรส ทั้งนี้ คุณอาจเลือกซื้อ Ref. 5328 เป็นนาฬิกาเพื่อใส่ในช่วงวีคเอ็นด์ก็ได้ เพราะว่าเครื่องนาฬิกาแบบไขลานรุ่นคาลิเบอร์ 31-505 8J PS IRM CI J ที่ใช้นั้นมีกำลังลานสำรอง 8 วันด้วยการใช้แบเรลคู่ หากเจ้าของนาฬิกาไขลานเพียงแค่ครั้งเดียว นาฬิกาก็ทำงานต่อเนื่องได้ทั้งสัปดาห์แล้ว
นาฬิกาที่เราคิดไม่ถึงว่าจะได้เห็นที่สุด (Most Surprising)
Jaeger-LeCoultre ไม่ได้ทำสายแบบเบรซเลทให้กับนาฬิกา Reverso มานานมากแล้ว ดังนั้นเราจึงรู้สึกแปลกใจพอสมควรที่ได้เห็น Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds รุ่นใหม่ที่มีตัวเรือนพิงค์โกลด์ขนาด 45.6 x 27.4 มม. หน้าปัดทองสีเดียวกัน และสายนาฬิกาสไตล์มิลานีสซึ่งทำออกมาได้ดูดีและร่วมสมัยจริงๆ
สายแบบมิลานีสนั้นเกิดจากการนำเอาโลหะมาพันกันจนเกิดเป็นลักษณะเหมือนห่วงโซ่ ก่อนที่จะนำมาเชื่อมต่อกันเป็นแพ เทคนิคนี้เกิดขึ้นเป็นครั้งแรกในศตวรรษที่ 13 ที่มิลานและถูกใช้ในการผลิตเสื้อเกราะของนักรบ ก่อนที่จะเข้าสู่วงการนาฬิกาในทศวรรษที่ 1920 และเป็นที่นิยมจนถึงราวทศวรรษที่ 1970 ก่อนที่จะเสื่อมคลายไป แล้วจึงกลับมาเป็นแฟชั่นใหม่ในเวลานี้เพราะว่าดูทั้งสปอร์ตทั้งสง่างามในเวลาเดียวกัน หลังจากที่เราได้ลองเรือนจริงแล้วพบว่าสายมิลานีสใหม่ของ Reverso นี้มีความยืดหยุ่นสูง หรือจะเรียกว่าลื่นเหมือนเป็นผ้าเลยก็คงจะไม่เป็นการกล่าวเกินจริง จึงสามารถบิดตัวเพื่อโค้งรับกับข้อมือได้เป็นอย่างดี ทั้งยังใส่กระชับข้อมือมากๆ เพราะสามารถปรับความยาวให้พอดีกับข้อมือได้ในลักษณะคล้ายกับเข็มขัดนิรภัยที่นั่งบนเครื่องบิน
Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds ทำงานด้วยเครื่องนาฬิกาแบบไขลานรุ่นคาลิเบอร์ 822 ซึ่งมีกำลังลานสำรอง 42 ชั่วโมง
นาฬิกาใส่สนุกที่สุด (Most Fun)
การยกตำแหน่ง Most Fun ให้นาฬิกาสักรุ่นในงาน Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025 จะว่าง่ายก็ง่าย จะว่ายากก็ยาก แต่ถ้าจะคำนึงถึงเรื่องราคาและการใช้งานจริงในชีวิตประจำวันด้วยแล้ว เราขอเลือกเป็น TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph เพราะสีสันอันจัดจ้านของนาฬิกาทั้งหมด 9 รุ่นที่ออกแบบมาเพื่อเป็นเกียรติให้กับการแข่งขัน Formula 1 สนามต่างๆ ตลอดทั้งปีนี้ซึ่ง TAG Heuer ได้กลับมาเป็นผู้จับเวลาอย่างเป็นทางการอีกครั้งหนึ่ง
ตัวเรือนนาฬิกามีขนาดที่ใหญ่ขึ้นกว่าเดิมจาก 35 มม. เป็น 38 มม. ผลิตด้วยวัสดุสเตนเลสสตีลพ่นทราย สเตนเลสสตีลเคลือบดำด้วยกระบวนการดีแอลซี และไบโอโพลียาไมด์สีแดงหรือสีน้ำเงิน ทั้งหมดตัดด้วยสีสันที่สดใสไม่ว่าจะเป็นสีเหลืองหรือสีเขียว และสวมใส่ด้วยสายสเตนเลสสตีลหรือสายยาง แล้วแต่รุ่น
ในครั้งนี้ TAG Heuer เลือกใช้เครื่องนาฬิกาแบบพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ซึ่งมีชื่อว่า Solargraph ที่หลายท่านอาจจะรู้จักกันแล้วจากนาฬิการุ่นอื่นของ TAG Heuer ในช่วง 2-3 ปีที่ผ่านมา ประสิทธิภาพของเครื่องรุ่นนี้คือการชาร์จพลังงานอย่างรวดเร็ว เมื่อได้รับแสงอาทิตย์โดยตรงเพียง 2 นาทีก็จะมีพลังงานพอทำให้นาฬิกาเดินได้ตลอดทั้งวัน และหากอยู่กลางแจ้งถึง 40 ชั่วโมงก็จะชาร์จพลังงานได้เต็มสำหรับการทำงานต่อเนื่องนานถึง 10 เดือนแม้ถูกเก็บอยู่ในที่มืดตลอดเวลา
นาฬิกาที่ดูอ่อนหวานที่สุด (Most Feminine)
Van Cleef & Arpels นำเสนอภาคต่อของนาฬิกาที่บอกเล่าเรื่องราวของคู่รักแห่งปารีส จากเดิมซึ่งมี Lady Arpels Pont des Amoureux ที่ทุกคนคุ้นเคยกันดีกับภาพของชายหนุ่มและหญิงสาวที่เดินมาพบกันกลางสะพาน เวลานี้ก็มีผลงานชิ้นใหม่ที่ใช้ชื่อว่า Lady Arpels Bal des Amoureux Automate โดยเราจะได้เห็นคู่รักคู่เดิมที่มีอายุมากขึ้นเล็กน้อย และปรากฏตัวในฉากใหม่เป็นบรรยากาศงานเต้นรำแบบแก็งเก็ตตามแบบฉบับของชานเมืองปารีสในยุคศตวรรษที่ 19 และหุ่นออโตมาตอนของชายหญิงจะขยับตัวเข้ามาจูบกันตรงกลางหน้าปัดเทคนิคกริซายล์เอนาเมลในเวลาเที่ยงวันและเที่ยงคืนโดยอัตโนมัติ แต่หากคุณอยากจะโชว์ฟังก์ชั่นนี้ให้เพื่อนดูก็เพียงกดปุ่มทางด้านล่างซ้ายของตัวเรือนเพื่อสั่งให้ออโตมาตอนทำงานแบบออนดีมานด์ได้เลยเช่นกัน ส่วนเรื่องการบอกเวลานั้นยังคงเป็นระบบเรโทรเกรดที่มีดวงดาวชี้บอกชั่วโมงทางด้านซ้ายและชี้บอกนาทีทางด้านขวาเหมือนเดิม ทั้งหมดควบคุมโดยเครื่องนาฬิกแบบขึ้นลานอัตโนมัติซึ่งมีกำลังลานสำรอง 36 ชั่วโมง
ตัวเรือนขนาด 38 มม. ของ Lady Arpels Bal des Amoureux Automate เป็นไวท์โกลด์ 18 กะรัต ประดับเพชรรอบขอบตัวเรือน สวมใส่ด้วยสายหนังจระเข้สีน้ำเงินผิวเงาและหัวเข็มวัดไวท์โกลด์ และมาพร้อมกับสายหนังจระเข้เส้นที่ 2 ซึ่งลูกค้าสามารถเลือกได้เวลาที่ซื้อ
นาฬิกาที่ดูแมนที่สุด (Most Masculine)
นาฬิกาที่ดูดุดันที่สุดในงาน Watches and Wonders Geneva ปีนี้น่าจะต้องเป็น Grand Seiko Sport Collection Tokyo Lion Tentagraph SLGC009 ซึ่งนำเสนอรูปลักษณ์ที่คมคายของตัวเรือนที่มีเหลี่ยมมุม ทั้งยังเป็นการตอบโจทย์ความต้องการของคนที่สนใจนาฬิการุ่น Tentagraph ของ Grand Seiko อยู่แล้ว แต่ก็อยากได้ตัวเรือนที่แหวกแนวกว่าทรงกลมธรรมดาด้วย
Tokyo Lion Tentagraph ใหม่นี้นำเสนอดีไซน์ที่มีเหลี่ยมมุมเฉียบคมคู่กับเครื่องโครโนกราฟแบบไฮบีทรุ่นคาลิเบอร์ 9SC5 ซึ่งมีความเที่ยงตรงอยู่ในเกณฑ์ +5/-3 วินาทีต่อวัน และมีกำลังลานสำรองยาวนานถึง 72 ชั่วโมง หากดูจากสเปคอาจจะรู้สึกกลัวว่าตัวเรือนบริลเลียนท์ฮาร์ดไทเทเนียมนี้มีขนาดใหญ่เกินไปหรือไม่ เพราะมีเส้นผ่าศูนย์กลาง 43 มม. และความหนา 15.6 มม. แต่ว่าเมื่อขึ้นข้อมือแล้วเชื่อว่าคนที่ใส่นาฬิกาสปอร์ตขนาด 42 มม. ทั่วไปได้จะใส่ Tokyo Lion Tentagraph รุ่นนี้ได้ เนื่องจากว่าตัวเรือนไม่มีขายื่นออกมา ฝาหลังมีความโค้งเล็กน้อย และสายยางของนาฬิการุ่นใหม่นี้ก็ได้รับการออกแบบมาให้โอบรับข้อมือได้อย่างลงตัว
บนหน้าปัดที่ออกแบบโดยอาศัยแรงบันดาลใจจากขนสิงโตที่พลิ้วตามสายลมนั้นมีวงวินาทีต่อเนื่องที่ตำแหน่ง 3 นาฬิกา วงทด 30 นาทีของระบบโครโนกราฟที่ตำแหน่ง 9 นาฬิกา และวงทด 12 ชั่วโมงของระบบโครโนกราฟที่ตำแหน่ง 12 นาฬิกา เราอยากให้คุณสังเกตว่าปุ่มกดของระบบโครโนกราฟได้รับการออกแบบใหม่แล้วด้วย จากเดิมที่เป็นปุ่มทรงกลมก็กลายเป็นปุ่มทรงเหลี่ยมที่สะท้อนเส้นสายของตัวเรือนอย่างกลมกลืน และถ้าใครสนใจแล้วต้องรออีกนิด เพราะทางญี่ปุ่นแจ้งว่าของจะพร้อมส่งไปยังตลาดต่างๆ ทั่วโลกในเดือนสิงหาคมนี้ครับ
นาฬิกาที่กลมกล่อมที่สุด (Most Sublime)
A. Lange & Söhne เปิดตัวคอลเลคชั่น Odysseus เป็นครั้งแรกเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 2019 ในฐานะนาฬิกาสไตล์สปอร์ตที่สวมใส่ด้วยสายแบบเบรซเลทรุ่นแรกของแบรนด์ บนหน้าปัดมีหน้าต่างแสดงค่าวันขนาดใหญ่ที่ตำแหน่ง 9 นาฬิกา และหน้าต่างแสดงค่าวันที่แบบเอาท์ไซส์เดทซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งซิกเนเจอร์สำคัญของแบรนด์ที่ตำแหน่ง 3 นาฬิกา รุ่นเปิดตัวนั้นมีตัวเรือนและสายสเตนเลสสตีลกับหน้าปัดสีน้ำเงิน หลังจากนั้นจึงมีรุ่นวัสดุอื่นตามมา เช่น รุ่นตัวเรือนไวท์โกลด์และสายยางสีดำกับหน้าปัดสีเทา และรุ่นตัวเรือนและสายไทเทเนียมกับหน้าปัดสีไอซ์บลูซึ่งเป็นลิมิเต็ดเอดิชั่นจำนวน 250 เรือน
ในปีนี้ Odysseus รุ่นใหม่ที่ออกมานำเสนอความลงตัวของคู่สีด้วยการใช้วัสดุฮันนีโกลด์ คู่กับหน้าปัดสีน้ำตาล ผลิตเป็นจำนวนจำกัดเพียงแค่ 100 เรือนเท่านั้น ฮันนีโกลด์เป็นทองสูตรลิขสิทธิ์เฉพาะของ Lange ที่มีค่าความแข็งและทนทานต่อการขีดข่วนมากกว่าทองปกติ และมีโทนสีไม่เหมือนนาฬิกาทองทั่วไป เพราะว่าจะชมพูเท่าพิงค์โกลด์ แต่ในขณะเดียวกันก็ไม่ได้ขาวขนาดไวท์โกลด์ด้วย โดยปกติแล้ว Lange จะสงวนฮันนีโกลด์ไว้ใช้เฉพาะกับนาฬิการุ่นที่มีความพิเศษจริงๆ เท่านั้นตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 2010 เป็นต้นมา และ Odysseus รุ่นนี้ก็เป็นนาฬิการุ่นแรกที่ไม่ใช่เพียงมีตัวเรือนฮันนีโกลด์แต่ว่ามีสายฮันนีโกลด์ด้วย
นาฬิกาที่คุ้มค่าที่สุด (Most Value)
Frederique Constant Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture เป็นนาฬิกาที่เรียกได้ว่า “เขย่าวงการ” อย่างแท้จริงเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 2016 ด้วยการเป็นนาฬิกาฟังก์ชั่นเพอร์เพทชวลคาเลนดาร์ที่มีราคาจับต้องได้ที่สุดในเวลานั้น (และน่าจะในเวลานี้ด้วยอยู่ดี) ในปีนี้ Frederique Constant มีการอัพเดทนาฬิการุ่นดังกล่าวด้วยเครื่องอินเฮ้าส์รุ่นคาลิเบอร์ FC-776 ใหม่ซึ่งมีกำลังลานสำรองเพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 3 วัน ในตัวเรือนที่มีขนาดเล็กลงเหลือ 40 มม. จากเดิม 42 มม.
นี่น่าจะเป็นครั้งแรกด้วยที่ Frederique Constant เลือกทำหน้าปัดสีแซลมอนในนาฬิการุ่นนี้ เรือนจริงออกมาสีตรงกับรูปโฆษณา ไม่ได้เข้มหรืออ่อนไปกว่านั้น วงหน้าปัดเล็กทั้ง 3 วงของระบบปฏิทินมีการเล่นระดับให้จมเล็กน้อยลงไปในพื้นหน้าปัดที่ขัดลายซันเรย์เล่นกับแสงดูสวยงาม ล้อมรอบด้วยหลักชั่วโมงที่ดูเข้ากับเข็มทรงดอฟีนเป็นอย่างดี และสวมใส่ด้วยสายหนังจระเข้สีน้ำตาลซึ่งมีขนาด 20 มม. บริเวณขาตัวเรือนและ 18 มม. บริเวณบานพับ
เราขอแนะนำนาฬิการุ่นนี้ให้กับใครก็ตามที่อยากได้ฟังก์ชั่นเพอร์เพทชวลคาเลนดาร์ในราคาสบายกระเป๋าจากแบรนด์สวิสเมดแท้ๆ ที่มีโรงงานเป็นของตนเองและมีศักยภาพในการพัฒนากลไกต่างๆ ด้วยตนเอง
นาฬิกาที่คนมองข้ามไปที่สุด (Most Underrated)

From the most popular to the most underrated, we take a look at 10 novelties that strike us in different ways.

Watches and Wonders Geneva is the most important watch fair of the year. It usually takes place over seven days in April, with the first four days reserved for the press, authorised retailers, and invited guests. The remaining three days are open to members of the public who can purchase tickets to attend. The event experienced a dramatic growth in 2022 when a large number of brands that had previously exhibited at Baselworld officially made the switch to Watches and Wonders, following the closure of the former due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, Watches and Wonders Geneva has continued to expand, featuring a total of 60 participating brands (an increase of 11%). The event welcomed 55,000 visitors (up 12%), including approximately 1,600 journalists like ourselves (up 7%) and 23,000 ticketed attendees from the general public (a remarkable 21% rise). While there is no official record of the total number of new watches presented, the scale of the event was impressive in every sense.
After spending five and a half days at the fair meeting with brands and viewing their latest creations, we were able to select the following timepieces for each of our picks:
Most Popular Watch
With the Sea-Dweller and Sky-Dweller already in their porfolio, it was only a matter of time before Rolex introduced a Land-Dweller to complete the trio of sea, sky, and land. The Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller is designed specifically for urban life, as reflected in its promotional images which feature outlines of high-rise buildings in the background.
The design takes inspiration from Rolex’s own integrated bracelet watches from 1975. The dial features a honeycomb pattern reminiscent of textures seen in Rolex’s architecture and corporate identity. This is surrounded by a fluted bezel – another signature element of the brand – and paired with a new flat Jubilee bracelet that connects seamlessly to the case. The edges of the links are faceted and polished to create a brilliant shine as the wrist moves. The version shown here is the 40 mm model, though a 36 mm variant is also available.
Anything Rolex does is guaranteed to attract attention. But the launch of an entirely new collection takes that interest to another level. On the day the fair opened to the public, visitors queued three to four rows deep at the Rolex booth, with the line even wrapping around to the back. It is only fitting, then, that we name the Land-Dweller the Most Popular watch of Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025.
Most Discrete Watch
Over the past three to four years, Parmigiani Fleurier has championed the concept of quiet luxury. Their timepieces of exceptional craftsmanship do not overtly advertise their value. Only fellow collectors would truly understand what they are looking at.
At Watches and Wonders Geneva this year, the brand expanded their Toric collection with the Toric Quantième Perpétuel, a remarkably understated perpetual calendar. While most watches of this complication typically feature three or four sub-dials, this model opts for a minimalist display on a hand-finished, grained dial. Gracing it are only the PF logo at 12 o’clock, a day/date sub-dial at 8 o’clock, and a month/leap year indicator at 4 o’clock.
The 40.6 mm case is available in two materials: platinum with a morning blue dial, or rose gold with a golden hour dial. The watch is powered by the hand-winding Calibre PF733 whose components are crafted from rose gold. With such elegant discretion, the Toric Quantième Perpétuel is a natural choice for our Most Discrete Watch this year.
Most Versatile Watch
The Patek Philippe Calatrava 8 Days Ref. 5328G-001 is a 41 mm white gold watch that is well-suited for daily wear. The standout feature of this new reference is its combined date pointer and day window at 6 o’clock: a layout never before seen from the brand. A power reserve indicator is located at 12 o’clock, giving the dial a pleasing symmetry.
What makes this model particularly versatile is its balanced design, which leans neither entirely dressy nor overtly sporty. The hobnail-patterned case flanks and the grain-textured blue dial, set with white gold Arabic numerals, lend the piece a refined character. When paired with a blue calfskin strap with fabric-effect finish, it appears more casual. Swap it for a taupe calfskin strap, and the watch takes on a more formal tone.
Whether you choose to wear it to the office or save it for weekend outings, the Ref. 5328 adapts effortlessly. Its hand-winding Calibre 31‑260 PS 8J PRM CI J offers an impressive 8-day power reserve thanks to twin barrels. To this end, the watch owner needs to wind it just once per week, adding to the practicality and appeal of this new Patek Philippe reference.
Most Surprising Watch
It has been many years since Jaeger-LeCoultre paired a Reverso watch with a bracelet. That made the debut of the Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds on a Milanese-style bracelet a delightful surprise.
The Milanese bracelet is crafted using interwoven metal links in a technique that originated in 13th century Milan for creating chainmail armour. It later found its way into watchmaking in the 1920s and remained popular through the 1970s before fading from fashion, only to be revived in recent years for its blend of sportiness and elegance. Having handled the watch in person, we can confirm that the bracelet is extremely supple, almost fabric-like in its flexibility. It drapes naturally around the wrist and offers a snug, tailored fit, thanks to the clasp that works more or less like an aircraft seatbelt where length adjustment is concerned.
The pink gold case (45.6 x 27.4 mm) is complemented by a warm dial in the same tone of gold, creating a cohesive aesthetic. The watch is powered by the hand-wound Calibre 822, which provides a 42-hour power reserve.
Most Fun Watch
Naming the Most Fun watch at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025 is both simple and difficult. But when considering both price and practicality, our pick is the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph: a vibrant collection of nine watches celebrating various Formula 1 circuits. This year also marks TAG Heuer’s return as the official timekeeper of the sport.
The new Solargraph models are slightly larger than their predecessors, growing from 35 mm to 38 mm. They are made from either sandblasted stainless steel, black DLC-coated steel, and bold-coloured biopolyamide in red or blue. These are accented with bright details in yellow or green, and paired with stainless steel or rubber straps depending on the model.
Powering the watch is TAG Heuer’s solar-powered Solargraph movement, previously introduced in select models over the past two to three years. It charges very quickly. Just two minutes of sunlight provides enough energy for an entire day, while a full charge (40 hours in direct sunlight) allows the watch to run for up to 10 months even in complete darkness.
Most Feminine Watch
Van Cleef & Arpels continues its poetic storytelling with the latest chapter in their romantic watch series. Building on the beloved Lady Arpels Pont des Amoureux, where a couple meets on a bridge, the new Lady Arpels Bal des Amoureux Automate presents the same couple, now slightly older, at a Parisian-style guinguette ball of the 19th century.
On this novelty, the automaton figures move towards one another for a kiss at noon and midnight. There is also a pusher at the lower left of the case that triggers the action on demand, allowing you to share the charming scene at will. The time is displayed via a retrograde mechanism, with a star indicating the hours on the left and the minutes on the right, much like in the Pont des Amoureux. All functions are driven by a self-winding mechanical movement with a 36-hour power reserve.
The 38 mm case of the Lady Arpels Bal des Amoureux Automate is crafted from 18K white gold, with diamonds set around the bezel. It is paired with a glossy blue alligator leather strap and a white gold pin buckle. A second alligator leather strap is also offered, which the client may choose at the time of purchase.
Most Masculine Watch
Arguably the boldest and most masculine timepiece at Watches and Wonders Geneva this year is the Grand Seiko Sport Collection Tokyo Lion Tentagraph SLGC009. With its angular, sharply defined case, this new model is ideal for those already drawn to Grand Seiko’s Tentagraph but seeking an alternative to the standard round case design.
This latest Tokyo Lion Tentagraph combines an assertive design with the brand’s high-beat chronograph Calibre 9SC5, which offers precision within +5/-3 seconds per day and a power reserve of 72 hours. On paper, the Brilliant Hard Titanium case which measures 43 mm in diameter and 15.6 mm thick may seem intimidating. However, on the wrist, the proportions are more manageable than expected. Those comfortable with a 42 mm sports watch will likely find this model wearable, thanks to the absence of protruding lugs, a slightly curved caseback, and a rubber strap designed to contour smoothly around the wrist.
The dial, inspired by the flowing mane of a lion in the wind, features a running second subdial at 3 o’clock, a 30-minute chronograph counter at 9 o’clock, and a 12-hour counter at 12 o’clock. Of particular note are the redesigned chronograph pushers, which are now angular to better reflect the watch’s case silhouette. For those interested, a little patience will be required, as Grand Seiko has confirmed that deliveries to international markets will begin only in August.
Most Sublime Watch
A. Lange & Söhne first introduced the Odysseus collection in 2019 as their inaugural sports watch, featuring an integrated bracelet. It offered a large day display at 9 o’clock and the signature outsize date at 3 o’clock. The debut version came in stainless steel with a blue dial, followed by iterations in white gold with a grey dial and black rubber strap, and a 250-piece limited edition in titanium with an ice blue dial.
This year’s edition elevates the collection further with the introduction of honeygold and a brown dial, produced in a limited run of only 100 pieces. Honeygold is Lange’s proprietary alloy, more scratch-resistant and durable than conventional gold. It has a distinct hue which is warmer than white gold but yet more subdued than pink gold. Since its debut in 2010, honeygold has been reserved for truly exceptional timepieces, and this marks the first time it has been used not only for the case but also the bracelet of a A. Lange & Söhne watch.
Most Value Watch
When it was launched in 2016, the Frederique Constant Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture created a sensation within the watch industry by offering a Swiss-made perpetual calendar watch at an accessible price point – a feat that remains impressive to this day. In 2025, the brand updates this model with the new in-house Calibre FC-776, which now offers a 72-hour power reserve. The case has also been refined to a more compact 40 mm diameter from the previous 42 mm.
Notably, this may be the first time Frederique Constant has introduced a salmon dial in this collection. The actual colour closely matches promotional images. It is neither darker nor lighter. The three subdials of the calendar function are recessed slightly into the sunray-brushed dial, which plays beautifully with the light. The applied hour markers and dauphine hands are a perfect match, and the watch is fitted with a brown alligator leather strap measuring 20 mm at the lugs and tapering to 18 mm at the clasp.
We wholeheartedly recommend this watch to anyone seeking a perpetual calendar complication by a Swiss manufacturer, with genuine movement development capacity, at a budget-friendly price.
Most Underrated Watch
At Watches and Wonders Geneva, most visitors to the IWC booth were focused on models tied to the upcoming F1 film starring Brad Pitt. These included the Ingenieur Automatic 40 in green and gold—a nod to a vintage Ingenieur SL with a custom dial worn by the lead character, as well as various chronographs inspired by the fictional APXGP team featured in the film.
However, the new IWC watch that captured our attention more is the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar in stainless steel, which is clearly underpromoted both by the brand and the media. This model expands on the revitalised Ingenieur collection which returned in 2023 to the integrated bracelet design. Honestly, we expected to see an Integnieur with a chronograph this year, but IWC surprised us with a perpetual calendar instead. The 41.6 mm case contains the self-winding, 60-hour-power-reserve Calibre 82600 which is similar to that used in the Portofino Perpetual Calendar and the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 42 models.
While the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar may come with a rather high price tag, we believe it offers more value than the simple Ingenieur Automatic 40, which lacks any additional complications. By comparison, it is overshadowed only by the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 44, which features a gold case and a more generous 7-day power reserve.
