Swatch ออกแบบนาฬิการุ่น The Wanderer ร่วมกับคุณยูน ปัณพัท เตชเมธากุล

คุณผู้อ่านน่าจะเคยเห็นนาฬิกาในซีรีส์ Destination Watch ของ Swatch มาหลายเมืองแล้ว อย่างของกรุงเทพก็เคยมีรุ่น Sam-Lor ที่ทำลวดลายหน้าปัดให้เหมือนกับด้านหน้าของรถตุ๊กตุ๊ก และในเวลานี้ Swatch ก็ก้าวต่อไปอีกขั้นด้วยนาฬิกาซีรีส์ใหม่ในชื่อ Destination Art Watch ซึ่งจะเป็นการคอลแลบกับศิลปินในท้องถิ่นเพื่อบอกเล่าเรื่องราวที่ผูกพันอยู่กับเมืองนั้นๆ ผ่านสายตาของคนนอกบริษัทบ้าง
เมืองแรกในเอเชียที่ได้รับเกียรติเข้าร่วมซีรีส์ Destination Art Watch ดังกล่าวก็คือกรุงเทพมหานครของเรานั่นเอง นาฬิการุ่นนี้มีชื่อว่า The Wanderer และออกแบบโดยคุณยูน ปัณพัท เตชเมธากุล โดยมีหนุมานเป็นตัวแทนในการบอกเล่าเรื่องราวแห่งความเป็นไทย แฝงด้วยลวดลายดาวและเดือนตลอดจนลายไทยประจำยามเพื่อทำหน้าที่เป็นเครื่องรางที่คอยปัดเป่าพลังงานลบอีกด้วย เป็นนาฬิการุ่นพิเศษที่จะซื้อได้เฉพาะที่กรุงเทพมหานครเท่านั้น
ทั้งนี้ ซีรีส์ Destination Watch ที่ออกแบบโดยดีไซเนอร์ภายในของ Swatch และซีรีส์ Destination Art Watch ที่ออกแบบโดยศิลปินซึ่งเป็นคนนอกจะดำเนินควบคู่กันไป โดยในแต่ละปีนั้น Swatch จะนำเสนอนาฬิกาทั้ง 2 ซีรีส์นี้รวมกันอย่างน้อย 5 รุ่นแต่จะไม่เกิน 10 รุ่น ขึ้นอยู่กับความเหมาะสมและกระบวนการสร้างสรรค์จริง
The new Destination Art Watch series will complement and co-exist with the former Destination Watch Series.

Our dear readers may already be familiar with Swatch’s Destination Watch series, which has featured designs inspired by various cities worldwide. Bangkok was previously represented with the Sam-Lor model, whose dial was reminiscent of the front of a tuk-tuk. Now, Swatch is taking this concept a step further with the launch of Destination Art Watch, a new series that collaborates with local artists to tell the story of each city through an outsider’s perspective.
The first city in Asia to be featured in this new series is none other than Bangkok. The model, The Wanderer, is designed by Thai artist Yoon Phannapast Taychamaythakool and takes inspiration from Hanuman, a prominent figure in Thai culture. The design incorporates celestial motifs, including stars and the moon, alongside the traditional Thai Prajam Yam pattern used as a talisman to ward off negative energy. This special edition is available exclusively in Bangkok.
Going forward, Swatch will continue to produce both the Destination Watch series, designed in-house, and the Destination Art Watch series, created in collaboration with external artists. Each year, Swatch plans to release between five and ten models across both collections, depending on the creative process and feasibility.
